The site will act as reference tool for all elements of the aviation/shipping industry giving industry users the tools to search for individuals & companies using a search facilty by country, region, city, airport and company/individual name etc. Joomla with Jomsocial Each of the country, region, city, airport and company will have profile pages including maps, weather, local times. The company and individual profile pages will need to allow the user the facilty to update content using secure login and we need to try and relate & associate individuals to companies but an administrator would need to authorise. All other content will be updated by web site owner however city and airport profile pages for instance might need occasional updating and maybe provide a form for a local administrator to submit data with web owner to authorise changes etc. The individual profile (Jomsocial) page will play a major part of the site allowing individuals to establish communicate with other members by Skype or email or similar media and create various groups. This is how I want the mechanics of the site to work and therefore let me know what is feasible and it might be that other components are required. I want to offer profile pages for all the above showing extra features such as maps/locations of airports and companies along with what each company has to offer allowing upload of logos, company documents. testimonies, personnel branch offices etc. The main focus of the site would be the facility for individuals to communicate with other members using the JomSocial component such as email, private messaging, skype, phone etc. A great feature would be to introduce user groups where the members can add certain members to each group. The option also to upload video/photographs privately within the group for discussions etc. It needs to have a social networking feel about it but of a corporate nature so no gimmicks, just straightforward communication. Maybe you can advise what sort of other features JomSocial offer to see what can work. I need to relate individuals to a specific company so need to find a way to work this and have an administrator authorise the relationship. Companies will have branches so we need to find a way to relate these companies both nationally and worldwide. Like AZfreight, advertising/sponsorship will play a big part and we need to offer highlighted company listings for those paying a premium rate and also offer a an additional premium for those businesses to list their company at top of their respective listing. I think you get the idea so maybe you can come up with the necessary components and a rough cost indication.
