There is a project called [imgseek][1], that performs "wavelet analysis" on uploaded images and stores these image hashings in a database.? The server allows PHP, Java and Python clients to make queries to it by taking a newly uploaded image and finding the closest visually similar matches. I would like PHP code for 5 or so pages to be made for our stamp dealer site at <[login to view URL]>, allowing users to get collectible stamps from France and China identified.? The process will be: 1. User uploads stamp image. 2. The client sends the image for processing to the daemon. 3. The daemon does a wavelet analysis transfrom on the image.? 4.? The daemon finds the closest matches in its database. 5. The daemon returns the information about the closest matches to the client.? 6. The client retrieves the closest matches. 7. ? Users can optionally annotate their own and other user uploaded images. ## Deliverables So this is the requirements: I need a design of a Web interface/client for the [isk-daemon][1]. Here's what I'd like the interface to do: * Allow users to upload images of collectible postage stamps (of France and China at first) and have the isk-daemon process the image and compare it to the "wavelet transforms" from all the preprocessed images on my father's stamp dealer [website][2]. The deamon would then return the ID of the images to the client that are the closest visual matches. The client then fetches and displays these closest matches. In this way the end user can tentatively identify their stamp. This is because the image file name should be displayed also, which in my father's site, includes the Scott Catalog Stamp number. The Scott Catalog for 2008 has the "catalog value" of the stamp which collectors and dealers use to value stamps. So I would like to add this free stamp ID service to my father's site. * I would also like users to be able to browse the images of stamps my father has already scanned in. This is so they can have another way of identify stamps than direct searches. * * Additionally, I would like users to be able to upload stamp images from France, China and other countries that are not already on the site, to add to the collection of identified stamps. * * I would like users to be able to change the metadata of stamp images (but not my father's file names!) so as to add annotations of their own about any image. This would along with the preceding feature, would allow them to contribute either photos or knowledge about the stamps. ID results and browsing displays should also show the metadata of the images. If it is easier to implement, you could use link text or RTF files for the information instead of image metadata.
