This project may not even be possible, but we'll see what you think. I am developing a website with the need to (as accurately as possible) count unique visitors to the website. Each unique visitor gets counted ONE time in a 24 hour period. We accomplish this through IP tracking and setting a cookie. However, multiple users behind a router with NAT translation are only counted ONCE currently. This is a problem since we anticipate that college students will be heavy users on our site, and only ONE of them will get counted if 50 of them are behind the same educational firewall. SO, we understand there may be a way to track visitors according to MAC address. See the multi-page discussion and banter about this here: [login to view URL] I'm looking for someone who can either make this happen OR, solve the problem of multiple-users behind a NAT router counting as only one visitor. Thoughts??
