hi, i am not an expert of php but am quite an expert in setting up and tuning mysql also on ec2 windows or ubuntu machine.. i have my own REST api webserver with mysql backend hosted on an ec2 ubuntu server.. Creating an ec2 server and configuring mysql along with configuring its ports and accesses shouldn't take more than a couple of hours for me.. Thanks

Have experience with the Amazon Web Services portal. Experience in several Linux OSes. Will tell you need now, and may need in the future (more that one server) load balancers etc.
