AJAX GURU NEEDED!

Hello, This is yet another re-post as the previous 3 developer(S) had no idea what they where doing. Ok, first few things I need to acknowledge: 1) If you cannot get the project done in the time that you quote please do bid on this project. 2) If you do bid on the project ask any additional questions you have before you have been selected. Do not wait until after you have been selected to ask "Ok, what do you want now?" or "I have heard of AJAX, I think it is kinda cool, I plan on buying a book about it someday." 3) This project CAN be done, however every developer I have picked has waited until after they where chosen to decide they had no idea what they where doing and that it is virtually impossible to do. I have seen this functionality work on other sites so I know it is very possible. 4) I am a developer, so trying to snow me with "well, your project won't work because, jupiter isn't alligned with mars, and the flex capacitor on your site is not working" is not going to fly. I know it sounds like I am being a hard a$$ but this will be the fourth developer I have had to choose to do this project. I am an easy going guy, that will provide you with everything you need, as far as information to get this project done, if you are fair with me I will return in kind. What needs to be created is a function, that when a username or userid is passed into the function it initiates the chat script. Currently the AJAX script goes out and looks to find if there is another user on the page (I do not need this functionality, as I will use the ONLINE/OFFLINE script for this), If the AJAX script detects someone it creates a temp name for that person called example….guest453 (currently I do not need this functionality either, as I already know who the user is because I can see their name and that they are ONLINE). When you click the "guest453" link a separate window pops up, allowing you talk to that person directly (This functionality IS what I need, however instead of talking to guest453, I want it to be the user that I clicked on that is ONLINE). I have the AJAX application, and am needing it integrated into an already existing website. I have merged the databases so it should be easier to work with. You can view the chat application here: [login to view URL] it will need to be integrated into this website: [login to view URL] User:TestUser Pass:TestUser What I would like to do, and I don't think it would be be very hard is that when a person is online a little chat ICON appears. (this is not going to be hard and I can do this myself, as the website already has a function for checking who is online) when a user clicks the chat icon it sends that users ID into a function that calls the AJAX app similar to what you are seeing on the " [login to view URL] " page. What I do not have is that function/abaility to do that currently. Honestly, I do not believe this to be a very difficult task, I just do not have the time to figure out AJAX right now.
