Project Description To design and develop a simple to use comparison web portal for connecting “Buyers” with “Sellers” and allowing Buyers to easily compare prices and services from Suppliers. Preferred platform: Ruby on Rails. Example sites: [login to view URL] [login to view URL] [login to view URL] In our case “Buyers” of Engineering Services with suppliers (“Sellers”). i. “Buyers” will register and create their profile to access the providers and make online requests for their Engineering needs. ii. Suppliers (“Sellers”) will register and update their profile with information related to their organisation on the basis of which “Buyers” will make request for services from them / their organisations. iii. The Owner will have all rights as Administrator and will manage the website from Admin-Panel. This will be an Online Engineering portal. The key feature listing for the website is mentioned below. The interactive web-site will bear the Thawte Trusted Site Seal and use HTTPS and SSL for secure data entry which will be provided by client after purchasing it from hosting Server Company. FRONT-END FEATURES There will be three types of users: 1. “Buyers” 2. Suppliers (“Sellers”) of Engineering Services. 3. Owner of the site – As Administrator The functionality of each of the 3 users is explained below: 1. “Buyers” On the website Buyers can: ✔ Register as a new user through the registration process. Note: When Buyers register as a new user they MUST acknowledge they agree with our Terms & Conditions (this forms a part of the registration process). ✔ Log-in to their user accounts (if existing user) ✔ Update their profile information (Like: Contact Name, Organisation, Location, etc) ✔ When uploading their requirements, Buyers can upload photographs and files in MS - Word/Powerpoint/XL etc. format – e.g. specifications, special instructions, photos, sketches etc.. ✔ Give feedback to Sellers (Only Registered Users) ✔ Give ratings to Sellers (Only Registered Users) ✔ Access the details of the registered Sellers. ✔ Buyers would be able to easily search for engineering services with the help of the search box present on the website. He can search by selecting and filtering preferred sellers by: Specialty; Accreditation; Geographical location; Price, Rating/Feedback Buyers would be forced to log in and acknowledge that they have read and agreed to our T&C’s before they: Post any request for Engineering Services Give Feedback to Suppliers Give ratings to Suppliers 2. Suppliers On the website Suppliers can: ✔ Automatically register on the website filling in their details like email address, Name, Specialty, etc. ✔ Receive registration from link on their email address from the website Administrator. ✔ Can register on the website with the help of that link.. ✔ Make online payment for registration via paypal / credit card ✔ Log-in to their user accounts (if existing user) ✔ Upload their information ✔ Modify their information anytime. ✔ Receive a copy of “Buyers” completed requirements. 3. Administrator Administrator of the website can: ✔ Send the link for registration against the requests received from Sellers. ✔ View all the registered Users ✔ Add/Delete any user ✔ Access all the information about Buyers and Sellers. ✔ Receive a copy of Buyers completed requirements. ✔ Manage the website content through CMS (Content Management System) Please ask should you require any Additional Information..
