It's a relatively simple task.
I recently joined a company which uses _Unix_ for pretty much everything. I come from a windows background so I am having a tough time figuring this out and I am on a deadline (I need to get this done tonight).
My question is: how do I _block_ a directory from being served? For example: [**http://localhost/my-webapp/[login to view URL]**][1] is fine.
But I want to _**block**_ [**http://localhost/my-webapp/myfiles**][2] (there is no [login to view URL] here, but it shows the content of the whole directory, I want to block it, or password protect it, or display error 403 (access forbidden) message)
I know in apache we could configure **_httpd.conf_** but I am not sure how to do this in tomcat (It doesn't look like I am using apache separately). I am just having a tough time even figuring out which file to modify - **[login to view URL]**? or **[login to view URL]** or **[login to view URL]** or what!
_Please ask me for more information as you need_. If you want me to look something or do something, then you'll most likely also have to tell me unix command for it. **I know basic commands such as ls, find, grep, mkdir etc. but I am not good with piping multiple commands together.
