Build a university level simple dot game which explores evolutionary functions

This program uses a simple dot moving across the screen with which students attempt to catch. The dot has various properties which govern its color, speed and direction of movement. Dot are grouped into generations. Each generation is selected upon, based on whether students were able to catch them. Survivors enter into a pool were random or assortive mating produces the next generation of dots with combinations of performance properties. This will be integrated into lab classes at both the University of Queensland and the University of the Sunshine Coast Australia. Input data, and the variability and range of each performance variable should be customisable – along with the rates of mutation. Output between generations should be displayed as a graph, to show selection results from successive generations. Output should also contain statistical description of the current generation with previous generations to show significant differences. This program has currently been written using the Processing language ([login to view URL]) – which resembles Arduino code. The results are currently analysed in R statistical computer language. We require a program which combines these aspects in a flexible format – which can run as a standalone software on a standard windows platform. This project will likely require many iterations and discussions to fine tune. Therefore applicants would preferably be available at some time during Australian EST working hours for dialogue.
