Greetings! I am a native speaker of English with experience as a public relations writer and freelance journalist. I teach writing classes at the college level and have just published a textbook on writing for undergraduate students. I hold a PhD in philosophy and an MFA in Creative Writing. Both of these academic programs are writing intensive and require book length thesis assignments. My PhD dissertation addressed questions about PTSD resulting from childhood sexual trauma. I have knowledge about and a heart for these issues. Recently, I have revived my career as a freelancer, but I have edited academic papers for the VA in such fields as psychiatry and gerontology. For several years, I worked for an ophthalmologist in the Little Rock area, for whom I edited, revised and proofread medical textbooks, conference presentations, web materials, and personal correspondence.
