I would love to work on this project--I adore the supernatural/horror genre, and I am an avid reader of YA fiction, so I would jump at the chance to help bring these manuscripts to the next level. I have an MFA in fiction writing, and I have spent the past several years working directly with authors on their novel-length projects, offering advice and editing on plot structure, character believability, and overall pacing. My editing process involves identifying the high points of the story, what unique aspects really make the story sing, and work on finding ways for the plot to EARN those moments by offering alternative plot sequences, making sure each scene adds tension and meaningful character beats, and/or line editing to allow the prose to create the perfect atmosphere to make the story feel as real as possible. My bid applies to all three projects mentioned--a total of 70,000 words--and includes page-by-page comments and a multi-page letter to the author detailing my thoughts on the project as a whole, how well it's working and where it might be falling short. I will be willing to follow up with the author once my edits are complete to answer any questions, and I'd also be available for further workshops and edits, if necessary.
