Hi, I believe any lawyer who is well conversant in corporate rules & regulations would be able to deliver the job to your satisfaction. Thus, I would like to apply for the job as I am a qualified lawyer even though not with a UK law degree. In the end, it will be up to you to decide whether such UK law degree is mandatory. Reading law in the Commonwealth such as Malaysia, we share the common law, and at the earlier stage of the Malaysian Judicial system and up to 1984-1985, Privy Council was still hearing appeal cases from Malaysia. There may be slight/minor differences in the provisions of the related statutes though. In the circumstances, perhaps you could reconsider the stated criteria and give some exemption where necessary.
