This project picks up where another developer left off building an STM32F407-based CANbus logging device. The hardware is complete and tested working; the development environment is uVision4 and the software is based on CMSIS-RTOS. Development will be done remotely using VNC (depending on your location, it may be possible to provide hardware for local development). Basic functionality is complete and all drivers are believed to be working fully, with a comprehensive test suite.
The software has multiple modes, and is designed to:
- Connect CANbus enabled vehicles (raw CAN, OBDII, J1939) to the Cloud via uBlox 2G modem and/or Nordic BLE module
- Connect CANbus to USB for visualization of data and control through a PC
Additionally, there are non-CAN sensors a memory card for logging information. Full details will be provided to interested candidates, who will be sent the existing code, block diagrams, current project status, and completion metrics to help provide accurate quotes.
The primary tasks include:
* Validating that configuration file is read to memory and updates task timing and parameters
* Creating new "fusion" task that allows sensor information from other tasks to be processed
* Finalizing OBDII and J1939 tasks to incorporate DTC and PID tasks (libraries completed and working)
* Finalizing BLE communication (hardware driver completed and working)
* Completing file download function for bootloader (UART parsing)
* Finalizing implementation of USB-CAN VCOM software (acceptance filter configuration, send/receive packets, ISO15765-2 multiframe messages)
* Finishing reliability, security and robustness implementation and testing (watchdog timer, failsafe modes, firewall configuration, command whitelist/blacklist, PIN validation)
