I registered with Freelancer in February this year and have 20 reviews, all positive. English is my first language and my skills include technical writing, editing and proofreading. I am available to start tomorrow. My hours and days of work are flexible, to accommodate the projects I am working on. My rate for this type of work would be USD25 per hour. My ongoing freelance work includes editing papers for an online journal for translators and interpreters. Other recent work has included proofreading two complete theses as well as individual chapters of academic writing. Having been a teacher of English in high school for several years, I have spent many hours making corrections and suggestions for students' essays. For two years I was a copy editor for Elsevier Science Publishers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, rewriting text by authors who were not native English speakers. I have worked with individual clients to bring 12 books to publication.

I ensure that your book, article or paper is written to a high standard of English (either US/International or UK/Australian or any other variation). Most of their writers are not native English speakers. To achieve a top quality finished product, I proofread twice. Once to find the errors and improvements, correct them and highlight them. Then I accept all changes into a second, new document and proofread that to ensure I have not added any errors myself and to double check everything. You receive both documents. My standard rate is USD $0.01 per word with a minimum of $25 for one-off assignments. For ongoing work and where the quality of English is good, I will consider a reduced rate by agreement. It all depends on how long the work will take to complete. Copy written by a native English speaker is much faster to check over.
