This is a project which you will do every week. It is a weekly publication which is published in PDF format. Presently it is created in Quark Express (Windows) and then published to PDF. You can find the archives of the magazine at and you will need to click on the “login” link on the right and enter guest and test for the user/password. The editor will supply you with text files and you need to create a publication with the files sent. The editor will tell you how many pages the magazine must be when he sends the files, and you must create an issue which has that many pages. It's obviously quite easy to stretch it if need be, but you will likely have more material than needed for the amount of pages required. We do not supply graphics, but more often

Conversion of a user manual, 135 A4 pages approx, from Quark to Word. The Manual is currently published as a PDF from Quark for distribution. It is a mix of text and annotated graphics. 15 representative pages are attached here as a guide to content. The converted Word document should retain all formatting, colours and quality from the Quark original. It must be logically laid out and suitable for future manipulation by users familiar, but not expert, with Word - to allow additions, deletions and indexing. Looking for a software that can convert a file from any common program like MS Publisher/Broderbund Printshop (which is normally an RGB print format) to a Quark or Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop (4 color CYMK format). Freehand files have been converted to Quark however during conversion the incorrect fonts versions have been used (times new roman should have used times new roman MT etc) which when switched this causes some minor reflow. This is an extremely simple project. I have a business card design that is 4/4, already done in Photoshop. I'm getting them printed 4/up with one panel having a name on it and the rest just blank cards. The printer is cranky and will only print it if I arrange the files 4 up with perfect front/back alignment. Our current catalogue was designed in Quark, but it was designed very poorly. There are many 'tables' of data that are merely text and drawn lines that are randomly tabbed and spaced to appear as though they are tables... We are looking to have these false tables either converted to XML or Microsoft Excel files in the format they appear to be in, but properly delimited. We have roughly 300 of these false tables (give or take a hundred). Along with the conversion, the false tables would need to be extracted from quark files, and marked with which page and file they came from.
