Meme of the Day (MotD) is a fun social platform featuring memes stored as collectibles (non-fungible tokens, or NFTs), where users may uniquely share profits by voting on their favorite memes. They may also discover, upload, comment, mark favorite, share, buy, and sell memes in different categories.

We are currently seeking a redesign of our web app, starting with the home page. We would like to schedule an initial call with you to clarify expectations on both sides. Upon successful completion, this assignment would likely lead to additional design work for other pages of our app.

Home Page

Since MotD is a social app using web3 blockchain technology, the design decisions should support this. The app look and feel should be pleasing for the user and aligned with a modern web3 feeling.

The current frontend at [login to view URL] shows basic dapp functionality, but we want a complete overhaul of the design. The home page will contain the following parts:

• Navigation bar: This will contain the MotD logo as well as all the navigation links to pages. This is our initial logo, which we are open to changing, so feel free to create a new logo or use a placeholder if you think a different logo design/colors would be better. Nav links should include the following in this order: Activity [home page], Upload, Rankings, My Memes.

• Responsive and paginated list of all the memes that have been uploaded on the app. Suggest the layout (e.g. Grid, Masonry, etc.) to be followed for both mobile and desktop. Decide whether to show one meme per line or multiple memes. Also, please suggest how to incorporate both latest activity and top-ranked memes on the home page.

• For each meme displayed, show number of votes, date minted, vote button, bid button, favorite button, and share button.

• Filters: The user should have the option of filtering through all the memes by meme tag and date.

• Footer: This should contain some information about the app along with miscellaneous page links, including About, Contact, Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and links to social media pages. Also write “Powered by Matic”.

Note: While designing, please keep in mind that the same color palette, fonts, and typography will be followed on all the pages of the app and should be decided on accordingly.

Expectations for the final deliverable:

+ The designs should be provided in Sketch, Figma, Zeplin, or any other similar design tool which would allow the developers to consult the designs and see the fonts, colors and typography to be used.

+ A style guide for all the fonts, colors (primary and secondary), and typography should be provided.

+ The designs should be responsive and should target all device form factors (mobile, tablet, and desktop).

Bonus

Since most of the web3 apps have a high barrier to entry if the users want to carry out transactions over the blockchain using a wallet like Metamask, come up with a UX flow that simplifies this process and abstracts away as much of the interaction with the wallet as possible.

Our ideal designer:

Is excited about the web3 world. Has experience designing for dApps and strong knowledge of the current UX flows followed in the industry. At the same, they should not be afraid to suggest novel UX flows. Has a high turnaround time for the deliverables and communicates clearly if and when there is a delay. Exhibits high accountability, team spirit, and can take feedback positively.
