This project is to add a page to our existing ASP.NET MVC 5 application with server and client side validation between inputs.
Example inputs and validation are as follows:
input WA - must be between 8.0 and 96.0
input LA - must be between 8.0 and 236.0
input DA - must have a value of 0.313, 0.438, 0.563, 0.688, or 0.813
input XA - must be: 1.5 * DA <= XA <= WA - 2 * WC - 1.5 * DA
The user inputs are found on the last page of the drawing that is attached to this project.
Final output should be normalized, but users should be able to input valid numbers with leading or trailing zeroes. I.e.: For the WA input, the user should be allowed to input 0022.00000, but the value used on the server will need to be normalized to either 8 or 8.0. All normalization information required is listed on the parts drawing. Not all inputs have the same normalization.
When a user adds or changes any input for a given dimension variable, all other dimension limits that depend on the variable that was changed need to updated accordingly to show the new limits. For example, if the limits for XA and YA depend on LA, then any time LA is changed the limits shown for XA and YA need to reflect the new limits based on the new value of LA.
If one set of user inputs causes any inputs upper and lower bounds to overlap, then the overlapping limits must flag an error and make a suggestion to the user on which parameters to adjust to correct the overlap.
If all inputs are valid, the page will need to make an asynchronous post to a web server to retrieve the price for the item based on the users inputs and quantity. After the price is returned, the user should be able to submit the page to add the item to their cart.
If any of the inputs (including quantity), change the price should be cleared, and the user should not be able to submit the page until requesting a price again.
Once the page is submitted, the item should be added to the users existing cart, if no cart exists, a new cart should be created. The storage for orders has been created in SQL Server. The MVC application currently uses [login to view URL] Entity Data Model to interface to the SQL Server database.
We have many parts that need to be added to our website. We will encourage first time project submitters to do additional pages for us, in which case automating the page generation should be possible.
