Migrate website to new server

PictureStore is an online store oriented around selling art prints with various levels of customization and specific medium - framed, stretched canvas, block mounted etc. My father - Ryszard - purchased it about 5-6 years previously and has been running it ever since.
The storefront website is in ASP.NET Webforms, framework version 2.0. There is also an admin interface written in some ancient PerlScript based flavor of ASP. Overall, the application is very, very old and due for replacement.
Several things need to be done to improve the running of the business, chief of which is migrating to a less expensive hosting platform.
Picturestore runs on a Windows Server 2012-based application server. The hosting service is Macquarie Telecom; they provide a virtual datacentre solution that runs the application server, as well as a Fortinet firewall that protects the application server from being accessed by malicious parties. The service level they provide is fairly decent, but their price is hugely inflated relative to that.
We have purchased a dedicated server running VMWare ESXI hosted via Servers Australia, to which the application server has been partially migrated. However, there is more work that needs doing.
The goal of this project is to fully and seamlessly migrate the entire Picturestore application from Macquarie Telecom to the ESXI machine on Servers Australia.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Recommending and replacing the Fortinet-based virtual network infrastructure with an equivalent or better solution. We have explored PFSense, Fortinet and Sophos, but we are open to suggestions. Details TBA.
- Modifying the [login to view URL] file in the storefront website and admin website wherever necessary.
- Performing any necessary domain provider-side configuration changes.
- Recommending and carrying out any necessary integration tests.
- Documenting the entire migration process in detail.
