We are currently going through a tech audit and the controller would like certain things to be put in place on our servers. We have 2 days to get this ready.

The server is Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

The following needs to get done:

1. Update all available Patches (provide screenshot of last patch and no more available patches)

2. Screenshot of accounts on the system (user logins)

3. Active access log (must store all authenticated logins)

4. Log for failed login attempts

5. System must ban or deny somehow user who fails login after several (5-10) attempts. Notification must be placed somewhere either on server or email notification.

6. System must lock or timeout user if idle for X time -

7. Screenshot of accounts on the system (user logins) {For MySQL}

8. Active access log (must store all authenticated logins){For MySQL}

9. Log for failed login attempts {For MySQL}

10. System must ban or deny somehow user who fails login after several (5-10) attempts. Notification must be placed somewhere either on server or email notification.{For MySQL}

I'm sure most of these can be accomplished via command in Linux. If this is the case, you will let me know the command to run.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you
