We have a Shopify app and a nodejs backend to store and retrieve some extra data. The database used was mongodb and now we want to migrate to MySQL. Some of the newer code for the migration has been written but not yet completed.

The issue we are facing is with locally developing the app. The app was developed over the course of last year and when we tried to set up a local dev server with ngrok like the docs suggest for Shopify apps, we get a host of errors. And without domain expertise of the Shopify cli and ecosystem it's cumbersome to monkey patch it constantly to try and run it.
