Apache/Python Expert to Help Configure Python Websockets, ProxyPass & TLS/WSS

Despite all efforts, we built a Python Websockets server that functions perfectly WITHOUT ssl (ws://) but doesn't connect WITH ssl (wss://).
It seems to us the easiest route is to modify our Apache config and create a proxy so that all connections made to wss:// are securely proxied to our ws:// server that we are able to launch successfully.
Here is what our current modifications to our Apache config looks like:
