I need an existing masonry gallery effect COPIED exactly so that it looks and operates exactly the same way in wordpress. I don't mind if this is hardcoded ... I just need it done today/this evening .. perfectly.

See attached video. This is it! You will see ... when you rollover a square - all the squares are populated with that project. We then need to be able to click through to the corresponding project page. I can give you the /URL to the original site so you can see this but it needs work exactly the same in out wordpress page
