I currently coach a touth wrestling team in NJ. We are in need of an updated computer program that helps us run our weekly tri matches. I have a program from 2004 (called matchman) but it is out of date. Basically, this is the idea.
1) we typically have a tri meet once a week, where each team has between 20-60 kids.
2) the teams supply an excel spreadsheet with each kids name, d.o.b., weight, and a skill ranking from 1-6.
3) the matchman program would be preloaded with the team spreadsheets the night before the tri meet
4) the matchman program would print out a roll call sheet for each team the day of the event
5) after roll call, we would input any absentee wrestlers
6) we would then enter the criteria we wanted the program to use to make individual matches. An example would be
A) within one year in age
B) within 10% wieght
C) within 1.0 ranking
D) max two matches
The program would then run a preliminary “match” and we would decide if we wanted to change any of the criteria to achieve the overall number of matches we wanted for the event.
The program would then print bout sheets with each paired match.
After the kids wrestled we would enter the results. At the end of the event, it would provide a statistical breakdown for each team that included
