php: adjustment to existing wordpress theme

I have a problem with

Wordpress 3.5.1

Responsive Theme 1.7.8

Basically, Responsive has content on the home page, which is fine...but the heading is a tag, I want this to be a tag...simple, 5 minute adjustment for someone who knows their way around the theme

I would also like the following tags removing from the theme, to make it w3 compliant (HTML5)
