Rugby League database backend administration

Good Afternoon,

I am here today to accept quotes for the newest enterprise I am looking to establish. The website is based on the sporting code of Rugby League ([url removed, login to view]) and will be a main hub for news, statistical information and a discussion board.

Today we turn to freelancer in an attempt to find the right person to assist us in what we are wanting to do to help initially setting everything up.

What we would like your assistance with is a MySQL driven Database and Administration back end that will allow us to easily, effectively and efficiently keep records and statistical information from the game of Rugby League.

The database will be used to pull player profiles (past and present), team information, competition draw, and historical data.

In the backend which we will refer to as the Administration section the "administrator" needs to log in to a password protected area (to prevent inaccurate information being added to our database) and will have the ability to edit the Database in a number of ways.

- Competition Data

The Competition Data section is for the administrator to set up a new competition. Taking the above Wikipedia page as reference the Administrator my opt to set up NRL, NSW Cup, QLD Cup, State of Origin.

This would have information such as the competition name, year established etc. and would also give the administrator the option to add further seasons into the database eg: 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004

- Team Data

This is where the administrator will have the ability to add teams to the database. The team information section will hold information such as year founded, home grounds (and former home grounds), premierships won and the current playing roster.

- Player Data

This is where the administrator will have the ability to add players to the database. This would be quite basic and require the administrator to simply add the player. Once the player is added he/she should become available for the Administrator to select the player as part of the Team Data as being currently on the playing roster.

- Season Data

Above we have created the competition information, and the seasons. This section should allow the administrator to log in and add how many rounds a selected (from the above) competition is, what season it is, and be able to build a full draw from the data provided between the two.

This section should also allow the administrator to re-visit the "draw" and enter results of the matches which once entered and saved does two things:

1) Updates any draw pages with the results for those matches.

2) Updates the ladder with the current win/loss/draw record and competition points scored.

Please only contact me if you are able to do the work outlined, and have a portfolio. We will not be looking at anyone that does not provide some links of work they have done or has their own portfolio.

This is the first website in a network of websites we are working on and if the successful candidate is up for it this could lead to further work on other websites.
