Linux embedded OS

We are looking for a Linux developer/administartor to build us **an embedded Linux OS security gateway server** for our appliance.

This person must be expert in Bash, C, perl and CGI scrippting and will be able to even sometimes recompile the Linux Kernal.

**The project can be built from GPL programs such as _IPCOP.org_ or Debian. In fact. IPCOP OS is the best platform to start from.**

This project can potentially turn into a permanent contract job.

Modules that we will need within it:

1- A robust firewall module

2- VPN gateway

3- IDS module (snort/SnortSam)

4- Sock, POP, SMTP and FTP proxy server

5- Lan User Authentications through Rasius, LDAP or Windows Kerbose

6- Backup/Restore settings module

7- Updating new upgrades module from our servers

8- Already running network services list module

9- Anti-virus, Anti-Spyware and Anti-Spam scrippting modules to HOOKS from PROXIES mentioned above #4 to Kaspersky AV, AS and ASPM linux engines.

10- Build or modify the Web Inreface of _IPCOP OS_ to allow LAN ADMIN to modify these modules through a browser.

Basically, IPCOP OS has almost all of these modules to some extent. We encourge the bidder to review the IPCOP OS at [url removed, login to view] before making the bid. The IPCOP OS will reduce the workload to about 70% of our requirments. The work is mostly modifications on top of IPCOP OS.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
