Summary:

Project involves assisting with converting .SHP file to polygons database in mysql for overlaying 3 digit zip codes on google maps

Pre-requisites:

Must have own server to develop and test, no access to server or platform is provided. It should be noted that the .php code will be hosted on a CentOS 5.4 machine, so it must be compatable with that. Must provide IP/web address to see the output test so I can see the [url removed, login to view] PHP, Javascript and any related files required by the Google MAPS api is permitted. Any extra libraries are not ok.I will provide what I have, which is a .shp file and some conversion code. I cannot provide assistance on this as I am not an expert. I will attempt to provide a mysql database that has the polygon points in it, but there is no guarantee it is correct, which is where refining the translation of the shapefile comes in. The project needs to be completed very quickly. I expect to have the project started after a bid is accepted, not later. I also expect to see some tests to show the basic plotting of polygons on a google map API and have demos sent along the way so that I can see progress.

Finished project should do the following:

Poll zip code (3 digit) from mysql db and get polygon information (correcting any errors) and plot them on google [url removed, login to view] code should be able to plot one or several of these areas in different colors (as specified by some variable). The code should be able to aggregate a set of polygons as one color and another as another color. This is for showing a map of each sales person's territory. The similar colored areas may not be adjacent.
