modify my checkout page on magento store

i have magento store and i want to modify two things in the checkout pages
1- when someone chose the credit card to pay the order the store directed customer to external source (paymeny compnay) but i want the customer wright credit card infromation on my store without redirected (but still connected to the payment company)
2 - i want to chnage the city text field to dropsown and conrtol in admin panel to add or remove city.
this two things make the checkout much easier to all my customer
