Adding Upsell Products to product page

My store needs to be able to do upsell like this:

So if you check of one of the products in the highlighted red box. That item should be added to the cart along with the product on the products page.
The owner should be able to choose what upsell products that should be displayed on each products page.
The way that the client will reference the upsell products is by using product tags. For example an upsell tag would be "upsell:cos-krogh-ballon-vase-d17x20cm-glas-light-brown" where the url of the product then can be used to reference that product in the theme code.
