Visual FoxPro Database

I have been asked to continue developing an existing Visual Foxpro Database that the original programmer is unable to continue with due to serious health issues. I have limited experience in C, basic, html, VBA and a lot of Vbscript experience. I have next to no experience of VFP but will sub-contract the work out if I can't do it myself. The problem is that the source code I have been given is for one version before the version the customer is currently using and of course they don't want to go backwards while I catch up. I understand there were something like 5 major improvements in the version they are using now but the source code for that version has been lost by the original programmer. To quantify this project, the current exe is 890KB and the database keeps track of a few thousand mechanical parts and a few hundred club members. I don't know if decompiling is an option or not but I am open to any suggestions. ******** NEW INFORMATION (22nd April 2009) ******** Thankyou for all your replies and bids. A lot of you want to know the VFP version, sorry I omitted this, it was compiled using Version 6. Based on most of the feedback, it looks like decompiling is an option so I will separate the request into decompiling and development as suggested by some of the bidders: At this stage I am only asking for bids to decompile this into source code that compiles exactly back into the current version if this can be done. As already indicated, when I have the source code, I will have a go at the on-going development work and if I need help I will sub-contract the bidder who can decompile it correctly for me.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables):

a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
