Buddypress Members listing & profiles--customisation

Hi there

I am using Buddypress within Wordpress to create a listing of retailers on a ecommerce site. So retailers of our products are invited to register as buddypress members, fill out their profile using xtended profile fields and a location field so we can locate them on a google map and the public can find a retailer near them. I've set up member registration and activation and a basic member listing and single profile page.

I'm having issues with the members listing template and want to group members by their state or location field so the public can browse by state/country etc. But buddypress seems to always use [login to view URL] not the custom template I've created.

So I need help organising the members listing template and troubleshooting the template issue. I also want to integrate the Mapology plugin ( [login to view URL] ) so that retailers can be shown on a map on the Members listing page and also on a small google map on their profile page...

You need a sold understanding of wordpress, buddypress, responsive design, css and html.
