Build a blog/lifestyle website to integrate with our retail site

We would like to create a blog/lifestyle site and link it to our e-commerce site. It will be a simple graphic heavy blog site that is updated twice weekly with blog entries. We are looking at something similar to [login to view URL] although ours would be smaller/simpler, ie. 2 rows of 4 images to start with. Blog entries will be arranged by date with the most recent at the top.
As time goes by and the number of blogs increase we will also need a search feature and categories of topics.
We like the look of clear/clean images that show text across them only when you mouseover the image, see [login to view URL] for example of this.
It needs to be responsive as we expect the content to be viewed mainly on phones and tablets.
We will provide the images and content and given that we will be updating it twice weekly it needs to have a user-friendly CMS.
We need you to build the site, including recommending the platform to run it on, eg. Wordpress.
