Audio Editing Bird Sounds
$15-20 USD / hour
A publisher of one of the most popular iPhone nature apps in the world is looking for a talented audio editor for our bird song recordings. The MP3 files for this job have been recorded by naturalists in the field and require extraction of the best parts of the bird\'s songs and calls, as well as the removal of background sounds.
For this job you\'ll be provided examples of the important parts of the song to extract, which are called \"vocalizations\". A sample of before and after editing audio files are attached to this project. The Before folder are the raw files from the recordists and the After folder are the edited files.
In addition to editing the files your job will be maintaining a shareable Google spreadsheet list of what species have been edited, the number of vocalizations in the recordings in these recordings, the recordists name, the date of the recording and so on. Therefore, you should be comfortable working with a Google spreadsheet. The payment rate is $15 to $20/hour depending on your skills and the job requires about 20 hours per week for the next two months. After that period the hours may decrease or increase depending on the quality of your work.
If you apply for this job you will need to provide evidence that you have the necessary skills. We will give you a small sample to do so we can assess your work. Mastery of the English language and writing skills are required as is being based in the United States or Canada.

Unzip and find a Before and an After folder. The Before folder contains the raw files from the recordists with a grade assuaged to each. The After folder contains the edited files. Note how the primary songs have been pulled out of the unedited files.
