*CONTEXT*
I'm a part time illustrator and I'm creating a collection of little cute monsters inspired by Pokémon, which I decided to call «Sketchamon», derived from the words "Sketch", "a" and "Monster".
It started with me drawing monsters from random-generated keywords but now I'm also developing my own Pokémon region called «Lusitania», inspired in Portugal, and want to turn this into a brand.
Due to the Pokémon-related content, so far I've been using a logo that is heavily inspired on Pokémon's logo.
Yet the local community surrounding my Sketchamon is growing and I wish to get away from the Pokémon-connection and create an unique identity for Sketchamon on its own (I want to build my own franchise eventually).
*BRIEF*
Goal: Create a unique logo for «Sketchamon», disconnected from the Pokemon-style identity.
Requirements (check attachments for visual explanation):
- The logo can include visuals or be simply text based;
- The logo should still have a fun and cartoony look to it because it's mostly for kids and teens
- The logo must work well in both light backgrounds and dark backgrounds (or have two different color-schematics). Take note that the logo will mostly be used against a light brown background.
- The logo needs to have a single-line version (Sketchamon) and a three-line version (Sketch / a / mon)
- Develop the «Lusitania» tag that can be added to both the single-line or the three-line version.
- Optional: the logo style and/or elements should convey the original concept of "sketch" (drawing) "a monster";
- Optional: the «Lusitania» tag style and/or elements can convey Portugal imagery / thematic.
In the attachment you can find all previous versions of the logo, so that you can better understand how it was and how it's applied to different media.
