Contest Brief

The Beacon will open on Lake Hartwell in Spring 2019. A rare combination of farm and lake life, guests will enjoy a new, contemporary farmhouse, rolling pastures, shaded woods, goats, chickens and alpacas, beautiful gardens, and waterfront access to 900-acre Lake Hartwell with kayaks, paddleboards and a double-decker dock.

The name has an interesting history: (https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/concrete-arrows-america/index.html.) In the late 1920s, before there was radar or GPS, air mail planes followed large concrete arrows, placed every 25 miles, to get to the correct destination. Our property is near the site of one of those arrows, called a Beacon Light, and our address is Old Beacon Light Road. Hence, The Beacon. We want a logo that is contemporary and fresh, simple, easy to read and understand. We're still deciding taglines, but could be something like: "A lakeside farm experience," or "A contemporary farmhouse B&B." Think Joanna Gaines, not Old MacDonald.

I will submit my entry later , but please only rate 3 stars and above and reject logos that don't stand a chance. I will be overloaded with generic logos and it makes it messy. Good Luck.
