the common mistake people are making here is writing in too literary of a style. Do not say 'a figure', you must say 'a person'. Do not say 'scarlet'. Say 'red'. This is for English learners. They must learn to walk before they can run. Thanks!

thanks for interest in this. I want to let everyone know that my ratings for these is not an artistic judgement. Rather I am rating these according to how close they come to what I am looking for. You may write a beautiful passage, but if the complexity of the sentences, vocabulary and idiomaticity (if that's a word) are beyond the audience, which is English learners, then it is far from what I need. Thanks for your understanding about this!
