Contest Brief

UPDATE 8/30/18
As a further description of the second picture request please see the
3D wall picture EXAMPLES jpgs A – D

Film Making tools compilation EXAMPLES A & B but should also include
50's style camera, microphone, film reels, movie slate etc.

HOW THE FINISHED PICTURE SHOULD LOOK:

In the background should be the compilation of film making tools ALL OVERISIZED!

In the foreground should be the character sitting in a Directors chair as
"in-a-chair jpg"

CLOTHING fantasy/urban mix
end update-

UPDATE: 8/26/18
Perhaps this will make it easier to understand the task.
Look at jpg A.
Put a handheld camera with 3 lenses in his R/hand.
Form his L/hand like the hand in jpg F
Put a tripod (with closed legs) on his back as if he is carrying a sword
Draw the clothing to look fantasy/urban mix (jeans, hoodie, boots etc.)
The face of the character should at least loosely resemble the face of the client. Don't worry about detail here. This is only a concept.
end update-

These are concept drawing and do not need to be a 100% finished product. My client is looking for ideas.
Concept 1: Subject standing as in jpg A. Production items incorporated as described below in suggestions.
Concept 2: Subject sitting as in jpg C more of a flat image front view. For this image the production tools should be placed behind the character. Oversize production tools: slate, movie camera with large film cartridges etc. This is a compilation of production images behind the subject.
Multiple first place winners possible. The ultimate winner will have the opportunity to earn an additional $100 to complete the concept into a finished product.

Your submissions should be no less than 75% detailed as compared to something that would be considered a finished product.
Please use the elements suggested to complete the concept.
(See provided jpg's)

The concept is a drawing that depicts one-man video production. One guy wearing all the hats so to speak. His tools are: Camera on a tripod, hand held camera production slate, producers chair, etc... (whatever you can think of)
My client would like this picture to have a "Desmond Miles" from Assassins Creed, ninja feel to it. Assassins Creed meets independent film making if you will.

Suggestions:

1 Place the tripod (folded legs) and camera on the characters back like a ninja would carry a bow and arrow or sword. (jpg G, E, H)
2 The handheld camera (jpg D) should be held in his right hand as if he is carrying a hand gun. You can draw the camera to be better suited for the illustration but it should retain the 3 lenses.
3 left arm can be extended downward as in jpg A but the hand should be positioned as if he is using one hand to frame a scene in front of him. (jpg F)
4 The hoodie and attire should NOT be exactly like the Assassins Creed character, but please make everything more Urban.

The camera's and tripod should be more of a 50's or old era style camera like the ones in the example pics (jpgs G, E and D). NOT a video camera.
Several pictures of the client have been added. This is the face you will use for the character. The face should be clearly recognizable even though his head is shrouded with a hoodie.

Multiple first place winners is possible. The ultimate winner will have the opportunity to earn an additional $100 to complete the concept into a finished product.

The finished product - earning the extra money after the contest:
Concept A- will be the detailed illustration with front and back views. Like an action figure (2 drawings)
Concept B- will be the detailed illustration with front and 3/4 views only. Like a flat 3D'ish type wall plaque (2 drawings)
No cartoonish type drawings please. My client is looking for presentable concept illustrations.

You may be as creative as you like.

Please ask if you have any questions I will be happy to forward them on and relay the answers back as timely as possible.
Revisions and updates to this contest will be clearly posted.
Thank you!

Hi Rodneyl, I am sorry you feel that way. Please keep in mind that a lot of clients don't really know what they want until they see it. Your work is good work but just was not what my client was looking for. I would like to encourage you to not be so discouraged if you do not win a contest. I will remember your efforts and usually the clients will as well and may have a different fit for you in the future. So again, please be positive. Do not exclude yourself from future possibilities or opportunities.

No worries. You still have 19 hours. Don't forget there are two requests and they do not have to be completely detailed. The client is only looking for concept drawings at this point.

Thank you for your interest Rodneyl. Please keep in mind my client is only looking for concepts at this point. No need to be super detailed. A good suggestion would be to simply copy the images jpg A and C and put the movie production elements in the pictures as suggested. Also make the clothing more urban and less fantasy. I hope that helps.

Hi Rassanga, the image in jpg A shows the basic stance, posture pose. You can use this image as an image to copy and edit keeping the stance, posture and pose.

No need to create the character. The task is to make the character in the picture look like he is a one man film maker. Using the same posture of the character.
