I earned a position in Ford's IT department where I worked the last 7 years. During my tenure I oversaw the development of many major web based applications. My job title was Program Coordinator (basically an IT Manager that was not getting paid the same as an IT Manager). I maintained a 2 terabyte server that contained well over a quarter million documents. I handled all user account and webmaster support. I had over 80 webmasters working under my tutelage. I developed training materials and held regular classes for the webmasters designed to keep them up to speed on the latest technology or corporate IT developments. Because I fielded questions from these webmasters on a regular basis, I geared much of the training towards the most frequently addressed issues. This significantly cut down on the number of redundant questions. My strength in the IT industry is a keen understanding of customer requirements and the unique ability to communicate them to technical staff. I am also very knowledgeable on the technical side. I speak and understand the jargon of a programmer with ease. I am able to act as a liaison between the customer and the technical staff to make sure the product is exactly what the customer wants and at the same time make sure the comments, questions, or concerns of the technical staff are addressed. I like to personally create the front end of all applications I manage/develop. I have a sharp sense for making applications very user friendly. I am a stickler for consistency within the applications. I like to believe that once a user learns how to use one of our applications they can use them all with very little additional training. Front end creation is not a necessity of my work responsibilities but I prefer to, at least, be in a position that allows me to have input on the application flow. Again, this preference is to make sure the customer needs are satisfied. I am also able to manage project timelines, staffing requirements, and deal with budget constraints. Not only did I hold regular training sessions for webmasters, I also put together training materials, user manuals, tutorials, and demonstrations for the applications we developed. I went to the various department meetings in Ford that used our applications and held training sessions for them. I am also a trained/certified ISO auditor. My group was in charge of document control in V Engine Engineering. We conducted regular audits to ensure the staff was following all guidelines and procedures that were in place. Additionally, I have written many procedures for Ford, primarily focused on application development. If we saw opportunities to adjust processes we did so. We would make recommendations to the process owners and work with them until each procedure was complete.
