This interactive tool provides health care practitioners with the resources they need to document, track, and analyze patient information. It has two modules i.e. Care coordination and Infection Control.
The Care Coordination module is intended primarily for Care Coordinators and Social Workers. This module pulls together the critical elements required to document a patient’s medical needs, process discharge planning, and record patient interventions and outcomes. The module is connected to other systems, and allows access InterQual, which is used to document a patient’s need for stay in the hospital.
The Infection Control module is intended for Infection Control Practitioners (ICPs). This module provides all potential hospital-associated infection records in a surveillance list for review and nosocomial determination by an ICP. For nosocomial infections, the ICP enters additional information, based on patient condition and CDC requirements, to document various rates of infection. The collected data about nosocomial determinations provides information that can be used to improve quality of care.
eCare modules provide integrated access to clinical patient information, which is available for use in completing practitioner tasks.

MedeFinance Extract Service is a Windows Service that runs on the Windows. It pulls data from the Data Access (AS/400 database), creates a semi-colon delimited file, and sends it to the Data Exchange Server.The service wakes up every configurable period of time, looks in the DA table – MEDICNTL and if there is any facility to process, picks it, and creates 11 types of files per facility. The facilities which need to be processed have the MFXTRC flag in DA table MEDEFACS set to 1
The MedeFinance service has following parts:
