I am a restaurant business professional of over 14 years who has decided to pursue a long-time passion of the arts and am hoping to make a transition into working as freelance videography & photography as a result of the consequences brought about by COVID and government-mandated shutdowns. While my *professional* experience in the video production and photography space may be limited, it has been a hobby and past time of mine since childhood and have plenty of experience doing it recreationally.
With the combination of my passion for the arts and a past work experience that has facilitated a strong work ethic, I am confident I can complete any project and will always strive to exceed expectations.
In terms of digital content experience, I have primarily worked with Twitch streamers in creating custom transitions, animations, channel trailers (one example included below), emotes, logos, and have helped edit content for social media platforms, using programs such as Sony Vegas Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
In my professional career as a consultant, I have been able to utilize my hobby skills in various ways and have designed websites from scratch for 4 different restaurants in addition to a steel manufacturing company; I have also redesigned logos, created marketing materials, and managed social media campaigns that have resulted in increased revenue and greater brand awareness.
After being furloughed twice due to COVID regulations, I began to see my hobby as a career opportunity and have conducted a photoshoot for a 1-year old birthday and created a fully custom photo album as included below.
In terms of my professional background, I studied culinary arts in college and had already been working in the food & beverage industry since my junior year in high school which lead to a head chef position prior to completing my degree. From that point, I have worked in numerous positions of customer service that include positions such as a cashier, server, bartender, supervisor, manager, general manager, and up to serving as a regional manager. For the past 5 years I have worked as an independent consultant for numerous restaurant businesses, helping small business owners cut costs, improve efficiency, and grow revenue. While that knowledge and experience may have very little in common with videography or photography, it it has served me well in developing a strong work ethic, a heightened sense of attention to detail, a calm demeanor in high-stress environments, and development of a deep understanding in delivering customer satisfaction.
