I am an Italian native speaker with high competency and proficiency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
I obtained a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology, partly held in Latin America and the U.S. and, during and after my Ph.D., I gained experience as a language tutor, a translator and a subtitler in the academic field, volunteering for international environmental organizations, and in the fansubbing world.
The academic experience taught me how to be extremely accurate in researching my sources, how to manage my time efficiently and independently, how to learn fast and solve problems quickly.
As an enthusiastic movie-goer and TV series watcher, I have decided to put my skills at work in the field of audio-visual translation (subtitling, captioning, dubbing, videogame localization, and audio-description), as I believe that a deep understanding of social and cultural diversity is fundamental to create something that can be at once faithful to the source and enjoyable for the target audience.
I have recently got an M.A. in Audiovisual Translation and started working as a freelance translator, subtitler and audio-descriptor for subtitling agencies, TV broadcasting and Cinema post-production companies.
I love exploring and researching new topics, so I immerse myself in every job I obtained with the same level of passion and commitment!
