I am a biologist with specialization on geospatial data science applications using ArcGIS, ENVI, R and ERDAS for satellite image processing and geographic information analytics (PhD, University of Alberta, Canada). My native language is Spanish, but I speak fluent English. I teach undergraduate and graduate courses at Texas Tech University (TTU) and advise/tutor students in their research and coursework.
I have performed scientific assessments and establish biophysical monitoring systems in diverse ecosystems (such as mangrove, tropical dry and evergreen forests, wetlands, boreal mixed forests and shortgrass prairies) and agricultural lands.
I have extensive scientific writing experience with ~25 scientific publications in specialized journals and books. I have lead and/or participated in contracts (outside of Upwork) for USDA, USAID, University of Alberta, Inter-American Institute for Global Change Research, Pheasants Forever, Bayer CropScience and DoD.
