Help with CSS on responsive hexagon layout

[login to view URL] - This is a early version for a local nonprofit who asked me to build their site. I don't have extensive CSS skills. The hexagon layout I found online will be used on the home page and is a bit to advanced for me to edit. Currently, the images change on hover of the mouse. But, hover doesn't really work for mobile and the click event takes the user to the destination of <a class="hexLink" href="#">. I want the hexagons to remain responsive while: - Retaining the ability of an image to transition to text on hover for desktop. - Use click to change image to text on mobile. Then, have individual link(s) that can be selected to view more info. - Add ability to show specified hexagons with only text and no image transition. - Add the ability to start as text and transition to an image. Requirements: - Keep the css reasonably small. No libraries - Completed by May 28th (ASAP) I understand that some of this may not be possible. We can discuss to come up with another solution.
