Custom Module Migration from DNN4 to DNN7

Project: Migrate a custom module running on DNN4.9 over to a fresh DNN7 installation. This is to be done locally on a test server first then replicated on live hosting. Jumping from DNN4.9 to DNN7 means some of the older [login to view URL] code will have to be adjusted to [login to view URL], and old DAL updated to new one. There is a custom skin that only needs to be adjusted to work with the new site. A new skin will be made later on (probably a new project). GoDaddy: The live site is running on GoDaddy's shared webhosting. It would help if you are familiar with their setup/limitations. To make things simpler, I have bought extra windows hosting from GoDaddy. Please note the older account is GoDaddy’s Classic Windows hosting (which is no longer offered), and the newer account is GoDaddy’s Server2012 w/ Plesk Windows Hosting. There is a slight difference but the extra account allows me to leave the live site intact until everything is done then move the domain over. The live site has the actual module data, which is updated daily and will need migration. Finally, the latest version of DNN7 available on GoDaddy is 7.0.6 using the Plesk auto-install, a manual install might be better.
