Man there is no such thing as “outdated”. What you are looking for is a straight way (shortcut) to become an advanced editor. Hard working, studying and practicing are what making somebody advanced. To become an advanced in something you have to learn all the small “outdated” things first and then to combine them all together in your own personal way. That’s what art is all about. The things you listed as example of what you would like to learn i.e. 3D text in a video. You are going to do this in After effects. But first you have to watch a different tutorial for everything needed like : -Making a 3d text -making a nice textures for it and how to apply them -Tracking it into ae comp -adjusting it the way you want and so on. The truth is there is no man who could teach you this things and you to master them overnight. Save your money and do your homework. I hope i helped you :)
