Small project.. just need two small c++ programs to be written. 5) Write a program to read a binary file, of your choice, and store it in memory. Do the proper checking of status flags to ensure the file has opened correctly. Adapt your program to write the binary data out to a text file in hexadecimal format. For this you will need to look up the fstream formatting options. There are some links on Moodle which may help or you can use Google. It is important to get used to looking things up. 6) Using Winforms create a small application which performs a character and word count on the contents of a text box when a button is clicked. You will have to display the counts in the window, with a label to indicate what they are. You will also have to look up [login to view URL] and Convert on the MSDN (links on Moodle) to see how to use the Text property in the text box properly. you also need to deliver explanation of the logic. Have done this in other languages. Years of programming experience in numerous languages. I enjoy programming and doing unusual programming tasks. I has to do similar tasks in writing factory automation software where the input was a "virtual" IBM 3270 screen datastream that was stripped of control characters converted from EBCDIC to ASCII and sent using socket protocols across the net to the appropriate robotic control station on the network. The debugging code highlighted data in the IBM Datastream differentiating control data and actual user data. The debugger also provided Control structure mnemonics. Counts of total characters and both control and user data were made and logged as as well. On the same project I wrote specialized dump routines providing both Hex and character translations. The program was written in a combination of IBM assembler and C code which ran on the 68000 interface controller.
