R: Scrape SEC database for a specific form

Using R, write a script that: 1) Pulls from SEC/Edgar database the following form (DEFM14A) (note, this can be done with package ‘edgar’). It is an open source database, should not be a problem. 2) This form needs to be pulled for all U.S. companies starting 1997 to 2020. 3) Filter out firms with a specific CIK code (file to be provided). 4) From each of the forms, the following paragraphs need to be extracted: • Parties to the Merger Agreement/Parties to the Merger • Information About/Information About the Companies/The Companies 5) Final product: a well commented R script and a csv file with the following fields: file name, CIK code, and extracted paragraphs as described above (text).
