I understand that you want a faster WEB application, but rewriting it with Python will give you nothing, because the Python language is much slower than .NET/C #. I'm a old .NET/C # programmer and now am working on fixing slow sites. Young programmers do not know SQL and compensate this issue writing all queries with Entity Framework. This tool was created for fast programming, not for fast work. Let me to fix a couple of the slowest pages and I'll show you that it is possible to get rid of your problems without total rewriting.
