Supply Chain PowerPoint presentation showing how the consolidation of multiple individual Warehouse Operations into one centralized distribution center can save the Company money. This initial PowerPoint will just present the basic concept behind the consolidation which is being proposed. For example; Imagine a company that has multiple business units which are each focused on producing their own unique products. Each business unit will have their own Procurement and Supply Chain Organization to support their business unit. Each business unit also has their own Warehouse Operations.
So let's say we have 4 business units with the following:
Entity #1 - Procurement Dept., Logistics Dept. & Warehousing Operations.
Entity #2- Procurement Dept., Logistics Dept. & Warehousing Operations.
Entity #3- Procurement Dept., Logistics Dept. & Warehousing Operations.
Entity #4- Procurement Dept., Logistics Dept. & Warehousing Operations.
Each Entity also has multiple Site locations in which they support and each of these locations require Warehouse Operations.
Under this scenario you have 4 full blown Procurement and Supply Chain Operations to support each Entity and multiple warehouses to support each Site location.
The PowerPoint we are developing will demonstrate how we can consolidate all Procurement & Supply Chain Operations into one centralized location to support all Business Units (Entities). This centralized location will be known as the P&SC order fulfillment center.
With that said, there will still need to be warehouses supporting each Site location but in a much smaller capacity. The order fulfillment center will be the main distribution warehouse where all the inventory to support all Business Units will be stored. The Site warehouses will simply submit a weekly/bi-weekly/monthly replenishment order to the fulfillment center.
I hope I have provided enough details to inspire your ideas on how to present this proposal through PowerPoint.
