Project Details : Current Situation a) We use vtiger crm, for Project Management. b) 1 Project --> Many Tasks c) Tasks are created by a 3rd software NOT VTIGER. Tasks are sent to us by email attachments as XLS files. d) We then have to add every XLS task to Vtiger. Currently, in order to import XLS files into Vtiger, we use the following procedure 1. We manually Open the XLS file 2. We Convert it to CSV file using Excel Macro 3. We Upload/Import it to vtiger (through an external simple PHP system created 5 years ago, one by one -) In other words we created a PHP script which: a)Allow us to upload the csv file (CSV file is generated using an EXCEL macro which converts XLS->CSV b)Reads CSV's file data information eg "data1","data2","data3","data4" etc c)Insert data into vtiger dabase, in order to create a new task What we want: 1. We want to modify/create new system where we will be able to Upload/Import XLS file directly to vtiger (without any macros,modifications,etc) Keep in mind that ALL XLS tasks files have the same structure. 2. We want to upload MULTIPLE XLS files at once. Thanks for watching

The project will be a webpage, the user chooses several Excel files from hard or network disks and will send its to the server. On server part my PHP script (with PHPExcel) disassembles files and put them in your old PHP script (or I can rewrite it too or combine with my script ).

vbs could start an excel.visible=false instance to convert all xls in a folder to csv. from there FTP will upload multiple csv (or unzip on server folder) from there a single PHP webpage should be able to work thru all csv text files on the server-side and amend the vtiger database as needed (it might take awhile to find correct vtiger columns to modify)
