So this is what I need to get done.
Brief background on the company. They are a storage company for college students looking to store things for the summer. Their process is, student purchases storage online, fills out a pick up form, store 4 summer picks the item up, stores the items / boxes, then delivers it the next semester.
The company was bought and the new owners hired us to redesign the website. We have a copy of the old website where the functionality sought was working. Their was a requirement that was not discussed with us, and now we need to figure a way to implement it in the easiest way possible.
When students purchase the storage package they want, and set pick up they need to be able to to download storage / shipping labels. These labels need to be separate PDF's per box. They each need an unique bar code plus the following information:
Type of Box / Item
I am using Gravity forms to store user information. I am using the Gravity forms User Registration add-on. The student name, user id, phone number, pickup location etc are all located as User Registration fields.
The previous site was doing what we need to get done but they were using WP CRM and thus we need to look at how they were doing it and make it fit our current site / database structure.
For the barcode they were using BCGBarcode ([url removed, login to view]). They were generating an html version that would generate a HTML document that would show the barcode, plus user information, plus images (header and side bar) and this would output an html document that would then be converted to a pdf file I believe. There are a few php scripts that would generate a pdf file from html document such as GravityPDF or mPDF. Finally, the amount of labels printed by the user would need to be recorded somewhere, and if possible the barcode for each user should be recorded in the database.
On the new website you will see a MY ACCOUNT section. In one of those tabs, I want a "PRINT LABELS" and the user would go to that, then their would be different options such as Regular Box, Small Item, Big Item etc...the user would enter the # of labels they would need to print of each one. They would submit that, that would be entered into a database. Then the barcode + pdf script would be triggered and the user would be able to download a pdf file that would have all labels...each label would have its own page + barcode. Thus, if they need 8 labels printed, the pdf file would be 8 pages and each page would have a label.
I have a copy of the old Wordpress site that had this functionality working, in a [url removed, login to view] file and can give you access to that per request. You can go to that and get to the html directory then Labels directory and see how the old site was doing it.
